Bribery Act (2010)  The Bribery Act 2010 was given Royal Assent in April 2010 and will come into force in the UK in April 2011. Prior to the introduction of the new legislation, the topic of bribery was contained over various pieces of legislation which previously resulted in a confusing approach to the subject matter. These pieces of law, some of which were over 100 years old have now been bought together and make up the Bribery Act 2011. The Bribery Act will strengthen the UK’s reputation as one of the least corrupt countries in the world, when it comes into force.
